HMG Careers Insurance Recruitment

If a career that is fully remote, commission-driven, and open to people with no prior experience is what you are looking for, you are in the right place. HMG Careers recruits, trains, and places agents into insurance sales roles across Canada and the United States, helping them build a solid career in the insurance industry.

What HMG Careers Actually Is

A gateway into insurance sales careers

Think of HMG Careers as your entry point into a commission-based, performance-driven career — so that you hit the ground running with an established agency behind you.

  • Recruits candidates
  • Provides training and mentorship
  • Places you into roles with established insurance providers (AIL, AO, Nilco)

The Roles You Will Actually Work In

1.Insurance Sales / Benefit Advisor

This is the core role. You will:

  • Speak with clients via Zoom or phone
  • Explain insurance products (life, supplemental benefits, etc.)
  • Help individuals and families enrol in plans

2.Customer Service and Sales

Beyond selling, you will:

  • Maintain client relationships
  • Handle queries and policy updates
  • Upsell additional coverage where relevant

3.Management (Growth Path)

As you progress, you can:

  • Recruit and train new agents
  • Build and manage a team
  • Earn overrides on team performance

Payment Methods

This is where expectations matter.

It is commission-based.

There is no base salary. Your income is directly tied to the policies you sell. There is room for uncapped earnings, performance bonuses, and residual income from ongoing policy renewals.

Typical income can be:

Year One~$67,000
Year Two~$118,000For high performers

Remember:

This is a performance-driven role. No sales = no income. Your results directly determine your earnings.

Work Setup and Requirements

The setup is straightforward:

  • 100% remote with flexible hours
  • Leads provided at no cost — no cold calling
  • No degree required — HMG Careers trains you from the ground up
  • Insurance license required — this is a government regulation, not an HMG Careers fee

The licensing requirement is the one step that surprises some applicants. In both Canada and the United States, selling insurance requires a valid provincial or state license. HMG Careers guides you through the process, connects you with accredited pre-licensing schools, and can arrange a course discount. You pay the school directly and the government directly for your exam and license. Nothing is paid to HMG Careers.

Who This Works For — and Who It Does Not

It is worth being direct here because the right fit matters.

This works well if you:

  • Are comfortable with sales and do not shy away from rejection or failure
  • Want remote flexibility and the ability to control your own income ceiling
  • Can handle inconsistent earnings in the early months while you build your pipeline
  • Are looking for a career with a real management and growth track

This is a harder fit if you:

  • Need a stable salary from your very first week
  • Prefer structured corporate environments with set hours and close supervision of your work
  • Are not comfortable in a sales-oriented role

The commission model rewards discipline and consistency above everything else. Agents who treat this like a structured full-time career, working their leads daily, engaging with training, and applying what their managers teach them, are the ones who build meaningful income.

The FTC’s guidance on evaluating sales-based career opportunities is a useful reference for anyone assessing any commission-based role. HMG Careers holds up clearly under those criteria. There is no joining fee, no personal product purchases, and income is tied entirely to selling insurance to external clients.

What the Onboarding Path Looks Like

The process is simple.

From application to your first commission — whether you are licensed already or starting from scratch, the path is clear and the support is real.

01

Submit your online application and answer a short set of screening questions. These help the hiring team assess your communication style, which is central to the role.

02
Meet the Team

Shortlisted candidates join a Zoom session with the hiring director and regional managers. The role, pay structure, licensing process, and growth path are all explained in full.

03
Get Licensed

If you are not yet licensed, you will be guided through an accredited pre-licensing course. In Canada, HMG Careers recommends REMIC, a government-recognized institution with a 92–94% exam pass rate. Once enrolled, a manager is assigned to support you through the process.

04
Start With Leads

Once licensed, you begin working with provided leads with full training and manager support behind you.

05
Grow

Stay as a personal producer or pursue management. That decision is yours to make once you are established.
